Same product or similar product? How to tell

Price comparison only works when the listings describe the same item. Titles and images can look similar while the underlying product is different.

Use identifiers

Model numbers, ASINs, GTINs, SKU codes, and manufacturer part numbers are stronger evidence than a shared marketing phrase.

Compare the variant

Check size, colour, memory, storage, pack count, included accessories, and condition. A “with case” or “renewed” listing should not be mixed with a new single-item listing.

Make uncertainty visible

If the identifier is missing or the match is only based on words, treat the result as a similar alternative—not proof of a cheaper identical product.
