SCOUTLY EDITORIAL STANDARD

Useful shopping advice starts with evidence.

Scoutly separates verified facts, retailer claims and editorial judgement so readers—and shopping agents—can understand why a recommendation exists.

Our six-step verification method

01 · INTENT

Define the buying job

We start with what a shopper needs to do, the budget and the trade-offs—not a commission list.

02 · IDENTITY

Match the exact product

Model name or code, variant, capacity, colour, pack size and connection type must match before prices are compared.

03 · SOURCE

Open the retailer evidence

We check the live product page, selected variant, observed stock state, seller context and relevant product claims.

04 · TOTAL

Compare the payable price

Displayed price is separated from conditional coupons, delivery charges and other checkout-only savings.

05 · DECISION

Explain who should buy it

Every recommendation states the use case, important limits and situations where another option is better.

06 · FRESHNESS

Publish the retrieval time

Price and stock are snapshots. Guides show when they were checked and maintain an update log when materially changed.

What “verified” means

It means Scoutly matched the named product to the cited source and checked the stated price or availability at the published time. It does not mean the price is guaranteed later, the retailer is cheapest across the whole market, or Scoutly physically tested the product. Each guide states its actual scope.

Current merchant coverage

Coverage is not yet exhaustive. Scoutly does not call an offer “the best price in India” unless the compared merchant set is named and supports that conclusion.

Editorial independence and affiliate links

Affiliate eligibility does not prove product quality and does not determine the ranking. Scoutly may earn from qualifying purchases through clearly marked links. Every commercial guide also identifies primary sources, and key product pages may offer a non-referral official link.

Testing, claims and corrections

If Scoutly has not physically tested a product, the guide says so. Manufacturer specifications remain attributed claims. We distinguish observed facts—such as an add-to-cart state—from marketing claims such as battery life.

For a stale price, wrong match or missing disclosure, email t.freedom67@gmail.com. Material corrections are dated in the guide's update log.
